Permissions

The 'Permissions' tab is where the controls are kept to determine what users have access to within the app. The permissions can be set for an organization as a whole, by user type or by individual user. The admin can use the permission to control who can see the organizations contacts, make calls, create conversations and meetings, send invitations and determine if the user sees the name of the user who sends a message in a group conversation.

1. Click 'New Permission'

2. Choose who the permission should be configured for

3. Select the User Type or a specific User depending on what configuration you picked

4. Complete the table to determine what the permission should be set for this user/user type. **See explanation of each permission below

5. Click 'Submit'

The permission is now in place and will be applied to those with the user type that the permissions were configured for or for the specific user the permissions were set for. See the articles User and/or New Invitations to learn how to set a User Type for a user.

To change or adjust previously set permission click on the User Type or name of the User in the list on the Permissions page.

Explanation of each Permission

Permissions in Lochbox allow the administrator to effectively administer your organization. Permissions can be set for entire organizations, different user types, or by individual users. Permissions ensure the organization is secure,

properly locked down, and compliant. The five permissions controlled in your Lochbox organization include:

  • View Connections: Should the User be able to see the organization contacts and groups within the app?
  • Create Conversations: Should the User be able to create a new conversation?
  • Unrestricted Calling: Should the User be able to call anyone in the organization?
  • Invite New User: Should the User be able to invite another user into the organization?
  • See Group Sender: Should the User be able to see the name of the users sending messages in a group conversation? If 'no' is selected, the name of the group will show for the sender of each message that is sent in the group conversations.
